Chashaku(tea spoon) by Sugiki Fusai, a tea master of the early Edo period.

 

The inscription "Sanbaso" is used in Noh and Kabuki to celebrate the New Year and other festive occasions, and is suggestive of the beginning of things, the curtain rising.
